ITS introduced Norton/Symantec AntiVirus to the College community in the summer of 2004. Thanks to broad use of the product, problems with computer viruses on campus have been significantly reduced.

Symantec AntiVirus for Mac has recently been upgraded to assure compatibility with the latest version of Mac OS X, 10.6 (Snow Leopard). The new AntiVirus software, version 11, is also compatible with OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and newer. If you are running OS X 10.4.10 or higher, install Symantec AntiVirus version 11 from the Core Software list on the ITS Software Server.

After a new installation, Symantec's LiveUpdate program will automatically update virus definitions.

The College also licenses AntiVirus for the Windows platform; Symantec AntiVirus for Windows will be updated soon.
