Hardware Standard

The incoming first year students (Class of 2013) were recommended by the Faculty Committee on Academic Technology to use an Apple Macintosh computer.  In the past, most students have purchased a MacBook or MacBook Pro portable system with wireless capability. These systems include a minimum of 2GB of RAM with a SuperDrive DVD-R/CD-RW. These systems also include ethernet, firewire and USB ports. Space is a premium in the residence halls so we do not recommend tower units with large monitors.

The current employee desktop minimum standard consists of an Ethernet ready Macintosh with a G3/G4 processor, 15" multiscan color monitor, 1GB of RAM, and a CD-ROM drive.
