Welcome to the new Information Technology Services (ITS) website

I'm pleased to welcome you to our new website that combines the former Computing Services and Academic Technology Services websites into one. The intent of the design is to provide the Franklin & Marshall community with easy-to-find, useful information about ITS services and how to get help with using your computer and technology tools in your daily activities at the College. The main sections provide information about our supported services and many "how-to" guides to what is availabe, as well as an opportunity to learn about and comment on our future IT iinitatives.

We welcome your feedback. All the best for an excellent Fall Semester!

Regards,

Jonathan Enos, CIO and Associate Provost

Progress Report on IT Investments at the College

Based on the recommendations of the Presidential Commission on Information Technology Report from May 2005, we have taken measurable steps to re-invest in IT at the College. What follows is a brief summary of what has transpired to date and what we are working on.

Changes for the Computer Store and computer repairs on campus

Dear Colleagues,
Beginning January 1, 2008 the Franklin & Marshall Computer Store will have a new name, focus and mission. The Store will become the Campus Computer Procurement and Repair Center to better focus on providing service and sales advice for institutional purchases of Apple products.Further, the Center will charge departments and individuals for repairs according to what budget line had originally purchased the computer. The Center will continue to provide service for personal computing equipment that is covered by an Apple Care warranty. The Center will exclusively support Apple as long as the Committee on Academic Technology recommends Apple for incoming students.

Why make the changes?

Reorganization of Computing Services and an Update

Dear Colleagues,

I’m pleased to announce the Offices of Computing Services and Academic Technology Services will now be known as the Office of Information Technology Services (ITS). The new name better reflects the breadth of services that we provide in partnership with members of the Franklin & Marshall Community. These services and their underlying infrastructure are designed to enable and enhance the teaching, research, learning and administrative collaborations at the College through the effective and responsible use of information technology.

The overarching goal of the reorganization is to provide improved service in the following areas:
• Supporting web services that reach out to external audiences
