Franklin & Marshall College uses iTunes U to share audio and video recordings of public lectures and performances. Through the iTunes software you can listen to or watch this material online or download it to your computer and iPod or iPhone.
To view our offerings you must first install iTunes if you do not already have it installed on your computer. iTunes is available for both Mac and Windows computers, and can be downloaded from:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download
Once you have iTunes installed, you can visit the Franklin & Marshall College iTunes U site directly by going to:
The link launches the iTunes software and displays the Franklin & Marshall College iTunes U page.
Under the Lectures and Readings section, click the title or thumbnail to view the content within a particular category.
Once you choose a category, a list of associated recordings appears. Titles followed by a TV icon are video files. The others are audio only.
To listen to or watch a file, double-click the title. This streams the content without downloading the file. Depending on the speed of your Internet connection, you may need to wait several seconds until enough of the file is captured to begin playing.
To stop the content streaming, in the top left portion of the iTunes window click the PAUSE button.
To resume playing, click the PLAY button.
To move forward or backward within a recording, in the top middle portion of the iTunes window press and drag the diamond icon in the scrub bar.
When you click to stream a Video recording a new window opens in which the controls appear by moving your cursor over the video.
To download a file (rather than streaming), in the list of available recordings, click the GET or GET MOVIE button located to the right within that recording's listing. You may need to scroll the window to see the button.
The files then appear in your iTunes sidebar under a playlist entitled Franklin & Marshall.
If you click away from the iTunes U page, you can return by clicking the iTunes Store icon in your sidebar or using the URL above.
